I had the privilege of working alongside Steven Scheers during his years as a Chief People Officer & CHR, and I’ve always been impressed by his exceptional leadership style and strategic vision. Steven and I were HR/CFO partners together at the FTSE100 Avast PLC.

The biggest complement is the ease of which we developed our relationship as Steven is someone who brings genuine humility and openness to relationships. I think this is critical if you are to have trust, which in itself is the critical foundation both at work and outside.

As the Director for the People at the Global Headquarters of InBev Steven transformed HR from processes towards business partnership, was the leading example to engage people and stretched his team – while coaching – to go far beyond past realizations. Steven and I have been coworkers in AVG Technologies and Avast Software. Steven and I worked together at AVG Technologies. Steven was the Chief People Officer of the newly founded TNT Express company after the demerger of TNT. His important and difficult mission was to establish a culture focused on people while keeping into account extensive cost optimisation programs. I have worked with Steven mainly on the financial side of these aspects, in which he always kept the balance between people and profit.
