Avast IPO: A Success Story
In May 2018, Avast reached a milestone with its successful IPO on the London Stock Exchange. However, it was the merger between AVG and Avast that laid the foundation for this success story. Two major players in the online security sector came together in a complex but inspiring merger. As a member of the AVG management team and later as Global Head of HR for the combined group, I played a pivotal role in bringing these organizations together.
The new management team successfully realized synergies that neither company could have achieved independently. This (pre- and post-) integration process took five intensive years, marked by hard work and the satisfaction of shaping this transformation. The management and HR teams were composed of exceptionally talented individuals whose efforts created an organization that became a market leader while delivering value to all stakeholders.
